World We imagine Pitch

Background:   I   grew   up with a younger sister who spent hours on her phone scrolling through social media,   and   I   knew   early on how easily self-worth can become tied to likes, filters, and followers. She was beginning High school  when I   started   to   notice   the impact of comparing herself to influencers, feeling left out, and   worrying   about   how she looked online. Social media is   powerful , but for many teens and young adults, it   undermines   mental   health   insidiously.   Whether   via   comparison anxiety and FOMO ,   cyberbullying and validation addiction, the effects are real and growing.   Schools often don ' t have the   time   and   resources   to   manage   the emotional toll   of   digital life ,   sadly . World We Imagine

Quote: Today we are redefining the geography of community and accepting shared accountability for common human values. Social media can be a very unfair place to individuals as it is the most prevalent source of information in tod...

Random Blog post #2

For my next random blog post I wanted to express my feelings about how it feels to go home every summer and return to school. Yes, I am a fan of going home. I love spending time with my family, seeing my dog and old friends. But sometimes with that comes a little bit of anxiety. I have been thinking about this summer constantly and how it might actually be my last summer at home. Every time I go home the bubble of high school buddies shrinks, lots of peoples parents have moved and some to be honest I don't have much interest in seeing anymore. I know this is all part of growing up but it is very interesting how time had moved so fast. Professor Hansen did comment on me being a junior and not a second semester senior so I guess I can't complain too much, just something that has been bothering me.      On top of that, my job for this summer is in downtown Seattle. I grew up in a smaller city on the eastside called Sammamish. I am excited to work dow...
